FAQs about our Pasta + Sauces
Both our Organic Spelt Pasta and Organic Pasta Sauces have a 36-month shelf life (three years) from date of manufacture.
Store in a cool, dry place. Once opened, refrigerate sauces and consume within 3 days.
Our Organic Spelt Pasta is made from organic spelt wheat flour and contains gluten.
Our pasta sauces contain no gluten and are labelled as “No Gluten Detected.” They are made without gluten-containing ingredients.
A note on spelt and digestibility: While spelt contains gluten, many people who experience bloating, discomfort or a "pasta belly" after eating regular pasta find spelt much easier to digest. This is because spelt is a true ancient grain – genetically unchanged from the wheat cultivated thousands of years ago – unlike modern durum wheat, which has been extensively modified. If you find regular pasta hard on your gut, spelt is worth trying.

Italy has centuries of tradition in both pasta making and tomato cultivation. Our spelt pasta is bronze die extruded using traditional methods, with grains grown in the regions of Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, and Abruzzo. The pasta production facility is located near Milan.
Our sauces are crafted using certified organic Italian tomatoes and organic extra virgin olive oil. The sauce production facility is in Calenzano, just north of Florence in Tuscany – the heart of Italian food culture.
Producing both in Italy allows us to work close to the source of exceptional ingredients and time-honoured techniques.
Yes. Both the pasta and sauces are certified organic – and not all organic certifications are equal.
Our products are certified to the EU organic standard, which is the strictest in the world. This matters particularly for tomato sauces: many "organic" pasta sauces sold in Australia source their tomatoes from China, not Italy. Our sauces use certified organic Italian tomatoes, grown and processed in Italy.
Our pasta is made from 100% organic spelt flour, with grains grown across Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, and Abruzzo. All three sauce SKUs are made with certified organic ingredients throughout – including organic extra virgin olive oil. No seed oils.

Spelt is a true ancient grain, cultivated for at least 8,000 years. Unlike modern wheat, which is the result of decades of genetic modification, spelt remains the same wheat cultivar as it was when first grown. That's what makes it genuinely "ancient."
With 12 grams of plant protein per serve and a good source of fibre, it brings a little extra depth to everyday meals, without changing how you cook.
Flavour and texture: Our spelt pasta is slightly darker than regular white pasta due to the inclusion of a little whole spelt in the dough. It has a nutty flavour and excellent texture – it holds up beautifully with robust sauces and works just as well with more delicate flavours.
Easier to digest: Many people with gluten sensitivities – and anyone who experiences that heavy, bloated feeling after a bowl of regular pasta – find spelt significantly easier on the gut. Kids especially seem to take to it naturally.
We currently offer three pasta sauces, all certified organic, made in Tuscany, and free from preservatives and seed oils.
Grilled Vegetables Pasta Sauce – Our most popular. This sauce contains 33% vegetables – zucchini, eggplant, and capsicum that are literally grilled before being added to the sauce, which is why it's packed with flavourful chunks. It's a brilliant way to get vegetables into fussy eaters, kids included. We recommend tasting this one first.
