FAQs

Products

The shelf life of our products vary, but they are all long life pantry products. Our tinned fish, for example, is known to get better with age and has a four year best before date from production on each can.

Not many! In fact, some of our products are completely allergen free, or the only allergen contained is because the product is an allergen (like our tinned fish which contains – would you believe it – fish!). Please email us if you have any questions about allergens in our products.

Each product has storage instructions on the side of the package. Most can be kept for at least a few days in the fridge after opening. The exception to this is our Concentrated Bone Broth range, which can be kept in the fridge for an exceptionally long time (which is why we do not provide a time indication on that pack – it will be used long before it goes off!).

No! Never have, and never will.

Our tinned fish range is packed in Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil and we use MCT Coconut Oil in our Bone Broth Rice range. We are not fans of seed oils…and suspect you may not be as well.

None of our products require refrigeration before being opened, but should always be stored in a cool, dry place.

Very good question! We have a bit to say on the differences between stock and broth (spoiler alert – there are a lot of bone broths out there that should really be called stocks). You can read our break down here here

Our Concentrated Beef Bone Broth is halal certified at its source of origin (New Zealand). It however is not certified when we bottle it in Australia. All of our liquid Beef Bone Broths are not halal certified.

Our Sardines, Tuna and Anchovies have been certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) — an independent, international non-profit that sets standards for sustainable fishing.

Why do we use MSC certified seafood?

- You can be assured your seafood is from a sustainable source
- Ensures the seafood you enjoy today is available for future generations
- Prevents overfishing and the destruction of our oceans
- Keeps our oceans healthy, wild, and full of life
- Support fishers, fishing communities and jobs
- Prevent seafood fraud and know exactly where your seafood comes from.

We source our tinned fish range from Europe to bring you the best in sustainable, high-quality seafood. Our range is preserved in certified organic extra virgin olive oil, using traditional Portuguese and Italian methods. Each tin is hand-filleted and packed, ensuring traceability, freshness, and respect for the craft of preserving.

Australia’s tinned fish production has alas long moved overseas and there are no longer any large canneries left in the country.

Most are, yes! We tend to avoid FODMAPs in the making of our products.
